Personal History
Hey Whats up. I'm Eddie Kline, age 17 in Lockport, IL. I enjoy playing Football, Baseball, Volleyball, going Bowling and Skiing. The biggest sport I participate in is Motocross. Although entirely, an inherently dangerous sport, it is the thrill of my life. Its not just something to do on day off, its what your committed to every weekend from February to November, and practice during the few winter (off-season) months. I am currently a 2-time State Motocross Champion in 2010(85 Sr), and 2012(14*24). Breaking my neck in 2011, after having the lead from the beginning of the year to the last weekend of July with the crash at Muddy Waters that would leave me injured for the rest of the season. I broke my C-1 cervical spine that day, which is an injury that on impact 99% are either dead or paralyzed. Myself, being apart of the lucky 1% that survive a sudden injury like this was enough to keep me off the bike for 8 months. Starting my sophomore year in August at Lockport Township High School(LTHS), I was in a neck-brace from the crash and wasn't able to get involved in sports due to my recent injury, clubs however I could do. Without being able to join sports I got involved with taking pictures for Porters Press and Yearbook(the closest I could get to being involved).
Hey, Whats Up. Im Eddie Kline, currently 15 years old. I was Born June 3rd, 1996. I am a very intelligent person when it comes to my school work, maintaining a 3.6 G.P.A. But even with that, I am extreamly out going in after school activities. My most favorite thing to do ? That would easily be answerd with Motocross ! I have been riding motocross bikes since I was 4, and racing since 2005 Competitivly. Being an amateur and just moving up full time to my 250 this following year has been a huge learning experiance.
Riding Goals
'' 2012 Season Goals '' - After being out of racing for the last 6 full months of 2011's race season from my major neck injury, Goals I have been setting for 2012 are about getting back into the fast speed racing style. I lost alot of sponsors that I had last year becuase of this injury. I couldnt help the fact I was T-Handled and ran over, but what I can is come back strong this year with more confidence and show that I can still race ! With everybody saying saying after a crash that hard, he will not be the speed he once was, I say to that, There rite ! I not going to be that speed, Im going to come back work harder longer and more to be faster then that speed !
5 Things to do for 2012
- Get Back In Shape just as good if not better then 2011.
- Win Races: Get back to speed, take it a little slow for the first few but dont want to let the injury permanatly slow me down.
- Loretta Lynn's: Take an attept at Qualifying this year.
- 14-24 Class Championship: I know in my heart I would have won this class last year, this is most important to give great performances in this class. If I dont win it I want to know that the person who wins had to work just as hard as me to claim the award, not just handed to them again.
- Have Fun ! and Promote my Sponsors to the best of my abilites each and every Race !
Competitive Highlights
Achievements By Year.
''2013''- 2nd Place Illinois District 17; 14*24 Class- Extreamly great year
"2012"- Illinois District 17 Champion; 14*24 Class
'' 2011 ''- Was to be my first full year of racing on my 250 after moving up from an amazing racing season on the 85 last year. The season started off to another outstanding year with results early on, sponsorship agreements that I was singed with for the year, and being Illinois District 17 Points leader in 14-24 and 250 C halfway through the season with an outstanding lead. Sadly later to the year I had alot of Financial troubles, aswell as many others. Right before a major 3-day racing weekend for Memorial Day mine and my dads bikes were stolen. Already extreamly tight on money able to go the next day (friday) and go to my local Yamaha Dealer to buy a bike in a rush for the big weekend. I was featured on the race plauqes for two of the 3 days. Was honored for that but was sad to not be on the bike that got me there. The next few weeks into the season were races used more as practices to get used to the new bike. Spent alot of hard work to get up to the winning speed I was going on my old bike, but after hard work it paid off. Started to really like the 2011's Extra push of torch out of the turns like my dads 450. I really liked the new bike and started getting back towards the front of the packs during races and maybe not wins, but happy podium finishes. After being back to normal and competitive again on the track(s) another mishap, which would unknowingly end my season and hopes for a championship back to back. A hard crash the last weekend in July at Muddy Waters would put me in months of pain. Finishing the race mostly out of shock, would later find out that I have majorly broken my C-1 Cervical Spine. The Doctor said that that is the worst possible bone to break in the human body, that I should have been dead or parailyzed on contact. So happy to be alive, but cant wait to get back racing !
'' - ''6th Place, Illinois District 17; 14-24 Class. Ended the season early but had enough points to stay top 5 till the last race of year which put me out at 6th for the year, which is still great to see after the harsh season. Should have been a win, but now I got that goal for next year.
'' 2010 ''- Illinois State District 17 Champion; 85 Sr. Class. This would conclude my career in the mini's after a well wanted, well worked for win that went all the way to the last race of year close in points. Had my big growth spert in the middle of the year which being on an 85 was beginning to be dangerous being to big for it. Bought my 2009 Yz 250 F and spent alot of time practicing on it then raced a few at the end of the year.Wanted to leave this class with a year win to know I was ready. Won it by one point in the last race of the year.
'' 2009 ''- 4th Place, Illinois District 17; 85 Sr. Class. Fisrt Season on my 85, and first attempt for Illinois Points racing.
'' 2007 ''- 3rd Place, Byron Nuclear Serise Track Championship; TrailBlazer PitBike Class.
