Personal History
My name is Dylan Leary, I live in Tasmania. I am 16 years of age. I have been riding since I was 4 years old and racing since I was 10. My first ever bike was a JR 50, and then I moved to a pw 80. When I was 10 I really wanted to start racing so my dad bought me an RM 80. I then did my first race a few weeks later at a grasstrack in Sorell but I didn’t have the speed like the other riders as they had been doing it for years. Although I didn’t succeed in my first race I still had the motivation to keep going and push myself to get a lot better.
Riding Goals
My goals for 2011 are to compete in all the under 19 National events on the mainland. To enable me to achieve this goal I require financial backing for travel to attend National events. I will be racing in Tasmania as much as I can to promote all my local sponsors.
Competitive Highlights
Some of the main highlights of my motocross career have been as follows. In 2007 at the Australian junior motocross championships in Queensland I won a heat race on my 85 in the 12-14 year olds. In 2008 the Supercross in Geelong was held and was converted the next day into the Arenacross track, the track wasn’t altered greatly apart from filling in the triple and a few rhythm sections. I raced A grade on my KTM 250f and my KTM 125 and won every race 6 out of 6. I was very proud of myself after that as I had beaten well known riders. This raised my confidence and inspired me to continue racing and furthering my career.
