Personal History

My name is Drake deGaynor and I ride in the 65cc and 85cc classes as a 10year old. I have a very supportive family that will due whatever is necessary to help me race at the level I am at.  In order to make this happen, my parents have surrounded me with people that are very positive about me and my racing. I have a knowlegeable trainer, that has experience working with National Level Riders, that works with me once a week and I have kids like Cooper Webb who have taken an interest in helping me become successful. I feel I am very popular in my area and my popularity is starting to grow nationally. Vurb Moto even called me the "Holeshot King" at Lorettas. Just with Lorettas alone I had some national coverage and I am looking to expand on that for the future when I participate in the MINI O's down in Florida and the rest of the Nationals for 2010.

I understand that sponsorship is not soley based on performance on the track, but off the track as well. In public school he was presented the Presidential award for achieving A/B Honor Roll every year. I have also been nominated for the Junior National Young Leaders Conference for his academic and leadership skills by his teachers. This is for kids to represent their school and the State of North Carolina to meet members of the Senate and the House of Representatives to learn more about our government in Washington DC. He has also participated in various functions to help raise money for his school and medical cures throughout the year.

Our future racing plans include continuing to do local and regional racing on top of getting ready for Loretta Lynns and Mini O's. We will also try to see if we can do other Nationals before the end of the year. Thank you for your time and we look forward to building a future with your company.

Riding Goals

Next year I plan on doing all the nationals. I will be riding my RM85 all the time now and just race the my KTM 65. I will continue to train with Tony Coley so I can be competitive in the 65 10-11 class, 65 7-11 mod class, 85 9-11 stock and mod. My goal is to be more consistant in my finishes. I have learned a lot this year and there are a lot of people that believe I will be a threat in the Nationals. I know the only way for me to get better I have to work hard and I am willing to keep doing that to reach my goals. I look foward to taking the knowlege I have gained from my recent experiences at Lorettas to make me a National Champion.

Competitive Highlights

I have won both 65cc classes at the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championships this year, I had won Virginia State Championships, placed 14th at 2009 Loretta Lynns Amateur National in the 65 stock class with a best finish of 5th place in the final moto and pulling 3 holeshots while in my 65 stock and mod classes. I have also had an 8th place finish at Ponca in 2007.
