Personal History
I've been riding motorcycles for almost 30 years now. When I was young the easiest way to finance my habit was to join the United States Navy. What was initially an excuse to get someone else to pay for college became an adventure. Twenty Three years later I have officially Retired to the Fleet Reserves of the worlds best Submarine Service.
When I first met my wife almost 20 years ago one of the first things out of my mouth was "I'll never love anything more than my motorcycle". It turns out I was wrong. After nineteen years of a great marriage my priorities have shifted a little. With the birth of my son 14 years ago riding came to a rather abrupt stop. Then in 2013 I was selected for Chief Petty Officer and the professional challenges of leading the worlds finest Sailors became my number two priority. As I finished up my tour onboard USS Michigan personal time has become slightly more available and my son is starting to progress on his motorcycle at a rather alarming rate. He loves nothing more than to race with his dad and other moto friends. The family aspect of riding and racing has reinvigorated my love of riding.
Thanks for your consideration.
Riding Goals
My goals are to have fun and promote the sport of motorcycling with my family. Yes I want to finish first but most importantly I want to be a good ambassador and responsible Father an husband.
Competitive Highlights
I won the expert class at the Desert 100 in Snowflake Arizona on an ATK 250LQ the week before I joined the Navy. It was pretty neat to be getting interviewed by SPEED TV the weekend before I left for boot camp. Other than that just about every checkered flag has been a highlight.
The most recent moment that stands out is watching my (at the time) 13 year old hit the triple at Washougal for the first time. I have never been so nervous.
