Personal History
My name is Donald Solley and motocross is what I do best. I have been doing it since I was 4 years old. Currently I am enrolled in an at-home study to complete my certification in personal training and nutrition. I am also teaching riding schools regularly. Other than riding, school, and teaching schools, I like to spend time with friends and family and going out on the boat for fun.
Riding Goals
Since my 2008 season was cut short due to injury, I have high expectations for 2009. I plan to race the Oak Hill, Lake Whitney, and World Mini amateur nationals before moving up to the outdoor national series.
Competitive Highlights
I have been riding and racing motocross since I was 4 years old. I have won championships all over Florida including the Florida Motocross Series, Dade City Championship Series, Unlimited Sports Gold Cup, Motocross of Marion County Championship Series, and the Unlimited Sports Winter Ams. I have also won many area qualifiers for Loretta Lynns, along with some motos at various regional qualifiers.
The past couple of years have been a tough learning curve. Loretta Lynn’s in 2007 didn’t go as planned due to a shoulder injury a week before. I worked through the pain, but ended short of my expectations with a 23rd overall in both classes. The Winter Olympics however were a different story ended with four top ten finishes. In Supercross I finished 6th in 125 expert mod and 7th in 250 expert mod, and motocross resulted in a 9th in both classes. I had my shoulder surgery shortly after and came back just in time for the area and regional qualifiers for Loretta Lynn’s making it in the Lites A/Pro Sport and Motocross A classes. Unfortunately my week was cut short due to a broken leg, but I am expected to make a full recovery by the middle of November.
