Personal History
Well, my name is Dominique and biking is my life ! I honestly don't know what i would be doing if i had never gotten into dirt biking. I've been riding for about 16 years and racing for 7, and I plan on continuing with this for as long as possible. I have been racing mostly hare scrambles, and cross country races, but as of last year I started doing motocross and tried an enduro. Motocross is now my favourite because of the intensity and adrenaline that comes along with it, and I'm improving at it so fast.. it's a great feeling! This is not to say I don't like racing a hare scramble here and there, it's cool to be able to race different grounds and work on different riding skills.
Riding Goals
For the upcoming 2012 season, I plan on attending all of the CMRC races that I can make it to. I am going to get a track membership to the local track here in Calgary so that I can go riding and practice as much as I can to prepare for the races. Now that I am in the Ladies A class, I need to train and get a lot of seat time in and hopefully by the fall I will be on the podium.
Competitive Highlights
Well, I would definitely have to say that my favourite racing moments are recent. Last summer I raced out in Patricia at a race called Xtinction, and I was on a new bike that I wasn't totally used to yet but I totally kicked butt. Results wise I only ended up with a 4th but what was exciting for me was that I was able to actually keep up with a friend of mine whom I normally battle with but was definitely kicking my butt earlier in the year. It was an accomplishment for me because I didn't think I was going to ride as well as I did. Last summer (2011) I wasn't able to race as much as I had hoped but I won a few of the mx Ladies B races and am no up to Ladies A which is definitely going to help get my name out there. Last year was my first year on my yz 125 and I am coming into this season comfortable on it and hoping to kill it!
