Personal History
My name is Dominic Steel. I live in the Panhandle of FL in a town called Freeport. It's about 30 min. in between Panama City Beach and Destin, so I love going to the beach and swimming! I live with my Mom and Dad and older sister, Ellie, and I have another older sister, Michaela, who just got married this year and now lives in Orlando.
I have always loved lots of different sports and have played lots of different ones over the past five years- namely flag football, tackle football, and baseball, but have a true passion for motocross and supercross more than any sport I've tried.
Riding Goals
I love riding my dirt bike - 2024 is my third-year racing and has become my passion and focus. My goal the past two years has been to make it to Loretta's. I did that in 2023 and 2024. In 2025/26, that will be the expectation. My goal then will be to improve my finishes there. Top 10, to top 5, to podium.
Outside of Loretta's my goal is to continue to race more national races and improve my results at those. I plan to race Mini O's on my Cobra 50cc gas, Cobra Mini-E, and Cobra 65cc bikes this year and look for some top 10 finishes.
Overall, I look to continue to grow, both mentally and physically, in the sport and learn more about life in general. Working hard and setting goals for myself has been a rewarding thing for me.
Competitive Highlights
In 2023, I made the Dirty 100, list of fastest riders in the nation, after some top finishes in the largest national races of the year. I also successfully hit his goal of qualifying for Loretta’s in the Mini-E class after consistent Top 5 finishes, with an overall national ranking of 26th.
2024 is my 3rd year racing. I took the #1 plate at The King’s Cup at Echeconnee Mx in the Mini-E class, had strong podium finishes on all three bikes in the FL WinterAM series, and qualified for Loretta’s in the 50cc (7-8) class, ranking an overall 23rd in the nation after 1,076 kids raced to make the top 42 gate.
I also had the opportunity to race the KTM Jr. Supercross Challenge, winning the Holeshot Award and a 2nd in St. Louis, and an overall 6th at the Championships in Salt Lake City!
Side note: Dom is a very focused and dedicated young man. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA and went 100% virtual this past year at OnTrack School in order to better focus on his craft. He is living his dream, spending lots of time at the track and around other riders who share similar passions. It's awesome to watch him grow!
