Personal History
My name is Dexter West and I'm 22 years old and I'm from Colon, Michigan. I recently just graduated from college at Kellogg community college for industrial electricity and electronics. I also started working at Jayco RV recently and am trying to get a part time job at a motorcycle shop. The reason I want a part time job at a motorcycle shop is to learn a little bit more about different machines like road bikes, four wheelers, and any off road machine. I started riding four wheelers and dirt bikes when I was really young mostly just around the fields at home or private tracks. For a couple years I raced dirt bikes at fair races but not to much. When I was 10 we didn't have the money to do it anymore so I had to find other things to do. Finally when I was 18 I got a job and was able to buy my first bike. It was a 01 kx250 that was in mint condition and the guy gave me a great deal at $1,500 bucks. After a year of trail riding I slowly got back into racing and I'm still racing today.
Riding Goals
Having goals is very important to me because it keeps me pushing myself farther. A couple goals I have is:
1. Make it to Loretta Lynn's in the open c class and in the 250c class.
2. Hopefully start racing some supercross on indoor and outdoor supercross tracks.
3. I want to go and watch some hare scrambles and hill climbs and hopefully start competing in them.
4. Start my own track where people can come and ride and have some training schools there to.
5. Go back to college for some classes on business management and some classes on becoming a stock broker.
Competitive Highlights
One achievement that I'm really happy about was finishing second overall for the 2017 season in the log road vintage/ modern support novice class which is like a open c class.
