Personal History
My name is Deven Brewer and I am a 6th grade student at Sky Ranch Elementary in Oklahoma City, OK. I enjoy school and consistently carry a 4.0 grade average. I have a brother who is 7 years old named Elijah, he is my best friend and an awesome rider for his age. My sister Savannah is 6 years old and she is my biggest fan, although the long days at the track wear her out! My mom Beth and my Dad Tommy are great parents who love and support me in anything I enjoy doing as long as I give 200% effort they will help me in any way they can.
I am a beginner MX racer who is totally focused on getting faster each and every time I get on my bike. I ride and train atleast 4 times a week and enjoy the hard work and dedication that this sport requires. I currently train at the Cameron Tate Motocross School here in Oklahoma City. Cameron is an awesome coach and trainer who really cares about improving his riders skills and their mental focus. I am getting faster every week, and have really seen huge results in my riding technique and conditioning.
Riding Goals
One of my goals for 2009 is to win the 85 Beginner class in the Oklahoma State Chamionship Series and to be able to compete in the 85 Supermini Class. These goals are attainable as long as I cintinue to work hard on my technique and conditioning throughout the winter. I had a good showing in the last State race this year at Cooperland MX. My starts were off, but I was passing riders in every corner and if I had a few more laps I would have been in the top 5 for sure. It was a great confidence boost for me knowing that I can compete and beat guys that were alot faster than me in the spring of 2008. I worked my tail off all summer with my coach Cameron Tate and showed up ready to go and good things happened for me!
Competitive Highlights
The biggest highlight for me so far was in the second moto at the Cooperland State race. I killed the bike right before the gate dropped and came out 23rd of 24 riders. I totally went into panic mode and just rode on the edge for all 4 laps. I jumped over 3 riders at once on a 50 foot downhill double and landed it perfectly. It was an awesome jump that truly tested my nerve and I ended up with a 9th place finish and had 3 riders right in front of me when I crossed the finish line that I was gaining on with a quickness.
