Personal History
I’ve been riding dirt bikes since I was 10 or 11. Rode trail bikes around the farm and woods. I bought my first motocross bike at 15 and started racing a couple times a year from 2004-2007. Was never really competitive just enjoyed racing and the awesome people you meet at the track. I got injured and stopped riding in 2007.
I joined the US Navy in 2007 once healed and spent 6 years serving. Had a family then moved back home to Indiana. I have 11 and 14 year old daughters as well as a 5 year old son. I knew I wanted my kids to have to opportunity to ride. The girls are more interested in dance, cheer, and sports. My son however loves all things associated with racing and dirt bikes.
So spring of 2022 I bought myself a Honda CRF250R and him two PW50s. He absolutely loves riding.
Spring 2023 Update: My son just turned 5. He is loving his PW50. I joined a local motocross club and with that have full 7 days a week access to riding. Really working with my son a lot. He may or may not race this year just working on his skills, confidence and technique.
Fall 2023:
I'm still loving my 2023 CRF450R. Finally get a lot more off time to ride. Purchased my son a 2024 GasGas MC-E5. He still riding the Pw mostly but getting some seat time on the GasGas.
Riding Goals
My main goal for myself is just learning and enjoying riding. I’m 35 years old now, so I don’t have any major competitive goals. I just want to ride safe, smooth, and with a decent pace. Trying to set a good riding example for my son. I’m a racer at heart, so I do have some urge to be more competitive for sure. I would like to advance to Regionals in the 30+ class within a couple years. I’d also like to score some top 3/5s at some local events.
