Personal History
Some personal history about me is that I have been racing ever since I was 7, I first started on a suzuki 50cc, the bike was my big brothers from when he raced it, I raced that bike for awhile, but then we decided to get my own 50cc. We got a SSR 50cc, the bike was not in the best shape and had seen better days, we had to weld the handlebars back on, and just overall a lot of work on it. This 50cc was the first bike I had to learn how to shift on, this was a big learning curve. Soon I got to big for the SSR 50cc so we then bought a SSR110cc, we could not get enough money to buy a Honda or other big name brand bike so we had to do with what we had, this was the first time getting really used to shifting and just learning what gears work for what parts of the track, I raced that bike for 1 year, then it blew, we finally found a 04 Rm 85, I was about 11 or 12 when I got it, this was my first time working with a clutch, my brother coached me through it and I caught on pretty quick, it was my first bike that I could hit jumps on and learn about position, I also worked with popping in and out the clutch, 1 year ago I bought a 03 Rm125, this bike has made me the rider I am today, this bike is the perfect bike for me at this time, she runs great, it has the power to float me over a double or a big table top, I hope to get a 250 in the next 2 years, but I still have a long time on my 125.
Riding Goals
The reason I want to ride is to prove to myself that I can do something and get better and better at it, I love the thrill of racing, and it just makes you feel great when you get the 1st place or pass that guy you were struggling keeping up with last week. I feel like I have so much more that I can do, I just have to get into the zone and find it. Some riding goals I have in mind is the holeshots, I want to start pulling them better, I am soon saving up for a holeshot device so I don't have to hesitate at the gate and I can just go. One other thing I have in mind is jumping, I want to start getting a lot more air and whipping to get lap times down, thats another one I am focusing on is lap times, getting around the track clean and getting faster.
Competitive Highlights
Some highlights that I have for this year is I am not in the beginner class at this time, I'm switching to two stroke open, where I can really lay on it and get around the track, I feel 100% better than I did last year, I am jumping a lot father and just about clearing everything on my local track, all I need at this time is more speed. I also feel I have got a lot better in turns and getting in ruts more, I am currently practising on my home track on ruts and getting more comfortable in the ruts.
