Personal History

My dad got me into riding this year because he has always been into MX.  He bought me my first bike this spring (CRF50F) with the goal of teaching me to ride so that we could ride together- both the track and the trails of Colorado.  I've only been riding on the track a handful of times since I first started in Spring of 2019.  My first race was July 13 at Kiowa after just a few hours of learning on the bike.  It turns out that I can't get enough of riding.  When my dad takes me to Watkins MX to practice, I never want to leave and he has to force me off the track.  I love riding!

Riding Goals

Get better at managing my 3 speed transmission.  Start passing in races.  Work on getting the holeshot.

Competitive Highlights

Declan had about 10 hours total on his bike learning before his first race at Kiowa, which was on a SX track.  It was deep, rutted and muddy but he finished and beat several other riders who had years of experience.  He finished 8th out of 12 in the 50cc Beginners class where every other rider was on a 50cc 2-stroke KTM or Cobra- he had the slowest and heaviest bike by far in the field.  We were very proud of him for getting in there and giving it a shot.
