Personal History
I got my first real dirt bike when I was fifteen. With no experience or training, I was riding for fun at a local track wearing just my helmet for safety gear. Within a couple months I had my first serious crash and did catastrophic damage to my left knee. Six months, three knee operations and a lot of hard physical therapy later, I was back on my bike with four titanium screws in my knee and some lingering nerve damage to my left leg and foot..
In early 2011, at sixteen, I started training seriously with Kyle Williams, a local pro with “NxLevelMx” in Houston and entering races in the 250 and 450 beginner classes. I do physical training five days a week, “on-bike” practice two days a week and race every weekend. I lost thirty pounds, got a lot stronger and started finishing consistently in the top three at local races. Even my schoolwork improved and I currently carry a solid B+ average in my senior year.
The highlights of the last three months of the 2011 racing season include :
· Second in the 450 class and third in the 250 class for the seven race Houston Main Event Series, including six (6) podiums during the seven individual races out of 58 competitors.
· Podiums in both the 250 and 450 classes of the District 20 Championship (Texas) Series
· A second and a fifth in the Texas Championship Finals race held October 31 in Houston.
After the Texas Championship Finals race, I moved up to the “C” class. After three races of the six race Houston Holeshot Series, I am currently running 10th out of 38 competitors in the 250 class and 6th out of 24 in the 450 class.
My short term goals are to continue my daily training regime and to qualify for the 2012 Nationals. I plan to race in all the major race series in southern and central Texas, as well as the area and regional qualifiers in the 250 “C” class (both stock and “mod”).
Riding Goals
My goals are to Train hard, and try as hard as i can in each race.
