Personal History

I starting riding motorcycles off road at age 15 in Southern California desert.  Began competing in AMA District 37 desert races in 1985, which included Hare and Hound, Desert Scramble, Enduro and Grand Prix events.   Lowest number earned was #5 Magnum (50+) Open in 2005.  After no racing in 2008 through 2012, I began competing again in late 2013.  I plan to compete in 10-15 events in 2014.   I am a 20 yr member of the Viewfinders motorcycle club, which is a District 37 affiliated organization.   I am employed by the U.S. Navy as a civilian electronics technician doing work associated with Navy surface combat ship combat systems.  I am married, and have 2 children, a daughter 28 and a son 32 who is also an active District 37 racer.

Riding Goals

I hope to earn a top 10 number in the District 37 60+ class this year.  I expect to compete in 10 to 15 events this years, which will include Hare and Hound, Desert Scramble, Enduro and National Hare and Hound races.

Competitive Highlights

Earned District 37 #5 Magnum (50+) class in 2005.  Also, competing in the 1989 Bartow to Vegas races was a highlight of my riding career, in particular as this was the last race held of that historic event.  Being able to compete and enjoy desert riding at the age of 62 is something I am really proud of.
