Personal History
I am 55 years old. I was born in Long Beach, CA. I always loved bikes growing up. When I turned 16, I bought my first bike, a 1971 Honda SL100. Rode it to work and on the weekends pulled off the headlight, taillight and rode desert enduros. In 1976, I bought a used 1974 Honda CR250 Elsinore and began racing the Southern California night tracks. Raced several SRA Riverside Grand Prix's. I sold my bike after two years to pursue a career, marriage, and a family.
I have lived in Woodland, CA for 26 years. I have been married to Susan for 31 years. I have three grown children. In 2006, I bought a used 2004 Yamaha YZ250F to begin riding again. I rode a few times a year with my son-in-law, daughter and friends. In 2011, I never dreamed of racing again. I met some older guys riding at a local track in Marysville and I noticed they had number plates. I asked them about racing and I learned of the Over The Hill Gang. I joined the OTHG in 2011 and began racing in 2012. After two evaluation races, I was placed in the 52 Beginner class. After winning a few races, I was promoted to the 52 Novice class midway through last year. I am looking forward to the 2013 racing season and moving forward in my new class.
Riding Goals
To have fun, enjoy socializing with fellow riders, and keep myself and others safe by riding smart.
I want to achieve at least two 1st places finishes and six top three finishes.
I want to place in the top ten in points, I missed the top 25 by two points this past year.
Achieve "52 Novice Class Club Champion" award again.
Achieve "52 Novice National Champion".
Continue to increase my riding abilities and skills for promotion to the "Intermediate" class.
