Personal History
I have had a passion for racing/riding since I was a kid. My first dirtbike was a XR75 and spent many weekends at cross counrty races and trials competitions growing up. Now in my 40's I can reflect back on the times spent enjoying this sport and the great people associated with it. This is a family oriented sport and I'm beginning the molding process of passing it on to my son and daughter, while still getting a few laps for myself.
I am very active in the dirtbike and offroad community. I am one of the Administrators for texasoffroad.net (TON) the largest dirtbike/offroad site in Texas and one of the largest of it's kind in the United States with over 35,000 members. We also host over 60 websites for the offroad community that include dirtbike, ATV and ORV clubs.
I have a degree in commercial art and do a lot of volunteer work for dirtbike clubs and series. I've created T-shirt designs for 2 series and dirtbike clubs for many years, as well as multiple dirtbike club and series logos. I've designed numerous series flyers and award plaques.
As part of my volunteering, I was the Sponsor chairman for South Texas Off-Road Motorcyclists (STORM) Series in 2004 & 05. I helped setup and manage the Texas Off-Road Championship Series (TORCS) scoring system since 2006 = present. I'm also the webmaster for TORCS.
Riding Goals
In 2020 I will compete in the remaining races that the Texas Off Road Championship Series (TORCS). My plan is to continue to race the Double Decade and Over 50 B in 2020. I'm in good standings as far as bump points are concerned, so i should finish out the year without moving up. My goal is to finish in the Top 5 in both classes.
My son (age 18) and daughter (age 18) are now riding and racing, and we've set aside more time to work on skills and practice. It's a good chance for me to hone some skills and for him to set a good foundation for the years to come. I'm currently working on a training plan for all of us that will encompass both riding and biking. The training goals I have are teaching my children to be more comfortable racing and give them confidence for the future. And for me to work on standing more and looking ahead for passing opportunities.
Competitive Highlights
I'm currently 3rd Overall in the Texas Off-Road Championship Series (TORCS). I've placed in the top 3 of 9 of the 12 races this year and in the top 5. of every race.
