Personal History

My name is Danny Burkhalter, I grew up and live in Lindale, Georgia.  I started racing at the age of 14 and have had a small motorcycle shop for more than 20 years.  I raced both motocross and supercross before making the transition to off-road racing.
For the 2017 season, I will be riding a 2017 KTM 300 XC.  I will be transporting the bike, tools and support gear in a 6’ X 12’ enclosed trailer, with room for sponsor signage on all sides.  I will also be using a pop up shelter at races, with room to hang banners for sponsors.
I began racing at 14 years old and received my pro license by the age of 16.  I have raced in motocross, supercross and many off-road events over the past 20 years, though primarily off-road after the first few years.  Barry Higgins was a big influence during my years of racing and Barry now works for KTM North America developing amateur riders in the KTM SX JR program.
Last season, I raced both SORCS (Southern Off-Road Championship Series) and the GNCC (Grand National Cross Country) series, placing first in my class (60+ A) in SORCS and second in GNCC.  I also raced several SECCA (Southeast Cross Country Association) events with podium finishes at each race.

Riding Goals

My goal for the upcoming  2017 season is to take first place in my class in both the SORCS and GNCC series, as well as competing in select Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro series races throughout the season.

Competitive Highlights

I and my team will work hard to promote our sponsors, their products and to reflect their high quality and standards in our conduct, maintenance and performance.  We also work with the beginner and youth racers before each race to help develop their riding skills and race preparation.
