Personal History
My name is Daniel Warren, I ride motocross and have done for over 2 years now. I first started on a small wheel CR 85, I didn't feel i was compatible with the bike, My dad then bought me a big wheeled KTM 85 , i feel that's when my progress really started, i felt more comfortable and like i could take on the challenge of improving my riding to a high enough standard for racing. Although i was very comfortable with my KTM i wanted to try a 150 as i was looking into upgrading my bike, i then realised that it was the route i wanted to take and bought the bike i have now which is my Honda 2007 Big Wheel 150. After riding it for a little while i suffered from a serious motocross accident and broke my collar bone, resulting in me being out for 14 weeks.
Once i came back i was really looking forward to just getting on my bike and improving my skills as much as possible, I started working on my fitness and improving my smoothness on the bike just in time for my first race season to start with CJSC and NSJMCC. Throughout the season i was improving my results, although i was fighting for positions which is never as easy task but a challenge i look forward to every season and every race.
The thrill of motocross is something i live for and also something that has made me push so much harder this year in my training. The thrill of overtaking someone and knowing i've gone up that leaderboard is just undescribable.
Last year i finished overall 13th for both championships. This year i am aiming for a top 7 finish and hope that i have the support and the sponsorships to help me meet that aim.
Riding Goals
This year , i have been working my hardest which hopefully will result in good finishes and excellent positioning on the leader board. I hope for a top 10 finish every race and with consistency a top 7 championship finish.
Competitive Highlights
One of my favourite competetive highlights of my last racing season was in a race with alot of the top riders of my clubs, we had a three way battle. Myself and two of the other top riders who are a little bit faster than me, Them being faster made me push myself that little bit harder resulting in me overtaking them in the final two corners.
