Masters MX - The final race of the 2018 season fell at Happy Ramblers. The theme for the day was mud...as usual. My results were a consistent 2-2 for 2nd place overall which stands to reason as my last four results have been 2nd place.
I am officially the 2018 Masters of Motocross - Vet 35 + C Champion! I'm looking forward to defending the title in 2019!

Masters MX - A hurricane slammed into the East Coast on Friday threatening to put yet another 2018 Masters race on the back burner for weather, however, Mother Nature gave us the gift of beautifully mild weather and Jonathan Beasley gave us perfect track conditions for Saturday's race and Budds Creek in Southern Maryland. My results were a consistent 2-2 for 2nd place overall which seems to be the trend this season as I've finished 3rd or better in every single round.
What makes this even better is I was able to wrap up the 35 + C championship with one race to go as I'm now leading the point by an insurmountable 83 points!

Masters MX - I’m in no way comparing myself to elite motocross racers, but I get what they mean when they say championships are won on the bad days. My starts were absolutely terrible at Tomahawk MX and I was still able to manage 2nd overall with 2-3 results on the day! I’ve got a 39 point lead in the standings with two races left, so now it’s time to be safe and protect my lead...

Masters MX - Happy Ramblers
Southern Pennsylvania was pounded with a lot of rain in the preceding days before the August 4 Masters MX race at Happy Ramblers. I had the first moto of the day and the track was in rough shape to put it mildly. My clutch was half burnt, there was easily 50 lbs of mud on my bike, and another 20 lbs on each of my boots by the end of the race. But through shear grit and determination and the amazing products all of my sponsors provide for my bike, I was able to not only finish, but win the moto in the worst track conditions I've ever raced. Moto 1 left me so gassed that I wasn't able to recover and repeat in moto 2, but I was able to manage 3rd. These are the kind of races that define "will" and separate the men from the boys!
Final results 1 - 3.
2nd overall.
2nd in the season standings 3 points back from the lead with 3 races remaining.

Nice ride at Mom’s before eating some crabs! So close to Budds Creek that Hookit thought I was there!

More trail riding today. Can't wait for the next race a Happy Ramblers. I haven't raced there in about 10 years!

I've been riding in the woods behind my house for the last few days. I'm finding my hand reaction time is getting better rapidly from weaving in and out of trees.

It's been a while since my last update, but my body is 90% healed and I've been progressively getting better results on the track. 7th in 30+ C & 5th in 35 + C at Budds Creek a few weeks back, and 2nd in 35 + C at the Tomahawk mudder last weekend! Still looking for that elusive win! A big thanks goes out to my sponsors for all their support. I love working with you guys!!!

Orthopedic appointment went much better than I expected. Not only do I not need surgery, but the physician doesn't even want me in a cast/splint! It is only a hairline fracture and she wants me moving my arm as much as I can to keep the swelling and stiffness down. I have a 3 week follow-up scheduled and recovery is only expected to be 6 weeks total. First race of the MDRA series is April 8-9 at Happy Ramblers so I should be healed up in time for the start of the season.

Practice at Budds Creek. Flagger didn't waive the yellow for two down riders on the blind side of a step up double and caused me to crash; breaking my right elbow. Orthopedic appointment scheduled for tomorrow 2/21/17 to see if I need surgery. Bummer!!!
