Personal History
Hi, my name is Daniel Mortimore and Im 30 years old. I was born and raised in Lucerne Valley,Ca. My mom and dad bought me my first bike when i was 3 years old. When I was growing up, my dad raced the District 37 national hare and hound series and he raced Best in the Desert series in the ironman class. So i grew up around riding and racing in the desert. Unfortunately my mom and dad divorced when i was 5 years old. My mom was left to raise my sister and I. She did an amazing job but with the high cost of riding dirt bikes, i had to quite riding at the age of 8. Flash forward to 2024, im now 30 years old, happily married, and owner of a successful pool service company. In 2016, i was able to purchase my first bike as an adult and finally get back into the hobby i loved so much as a child. I trail rode with family and friends as often as i could throughout these past three years. In 2019, I decided i wanted to start racing. Im having so much fun racing my dirt bike and look forward to progressing and learning as much as i can this year.
Riding Goals
There are so many reasons why i love riding my dirt bike. The one that stands out most has to be that feeling of being alive as soon as you throw a leg over the bike and take off into the unknown. Being a desert rider/racer you are constantly reading the terrain because you have no idea whats coming up next on the trail. You can only get that feeling by being a desert racer and thats why i love it so much. Racing throughout the unknown desert, you really need to know when you can go fast and when you need to slow down. And i love that challenge. My goals this year, is to finish the remainder of the district 37 sprint enduro series and race select sprint hero enduro races and select worcs races. My goal for 2020 is to chase the novice championship for the district 37 sprint enduro and sprint hero enduro series. Im going to race the mint 400 in the ironman class. Im going to race select worcs and NGPC races throughout the year whenever they dont conflict with the championships Im going to be chasing.
Competitive Highlights
My biggest accomplishment thus far is earning my first District 37 win in 2023. In the 2023 season I earned earned 3 wins and 9 top 5s. I finished the year with the District 37 sprint enduro championship in HWT (open) intermediate class and 2nd overall HWT intermediate in the Desert Series
