Personal History
I learned to ride at the age of three. I started racing at four. I started out on mini tracks and arenacross on a KTM 50. I have been riding for almost twenty five years now. I enlisted in the Marines right out of high school and that kind of consumed my free time. I was deployed most of my four years in. But once my contract was up I went home and pulled the bike out of the garage. Even after all that time it fired right up second kick. I've recently, over the last five years, started racing again on and off. I have been racing Open B classes the last two years. I love being on two wheels and enjoy making good memories with good people!
Riding Goals
I plan to make every race in the area this year and the following. I want to get back into racing full time. I also enjoy teaching the next generation. My seven year old is learning to ride on a KTM 50 just as I started out. I have a two year old who is learning on a balance bike currently. I've been really enjoying being a dad and being able to share something I love.
Competitive Highlights
After a four year hiatus while in the Marines. I came back on a wim with a wild hair to go race. My bike hadn't been touched in years. It sat in my dad's garage. Still fired up second kick but needed some love. Fork seals, carb rebuild, brake lines, tires, etc. My dad and I got it ready and went racing. I took 6th in Open C and 11th overall. And just like that the fire was alive again. I felt so good! I signed up for the next race a month later. Still not in any amazing race shape, I just went for it. I got 7th in Open C and 15th overall. Then life happened. I needed to work and raise a family. In 2021 I once again went out on a wim and signed up. I got a 6th place finish and then a 3rd place finish the next month to take a final standing of 2nd place in the Open B class in the GasIt Desert series. (It was a 3 race desert series). My 3rd and 6th place finishes were enough to put me 2nd in class as so many crash out or don't even finish. It almost happened to me. I went down hard in that 6th place finish race. I had 3 broken spokes on the rear wheel, blew out my rear shock and had bent bars. I was in pain. But I refused to quit. I only had to make it 30 more miles.
