Personal History

Whats up everyone!  My name is Dane Folsom and I am a 11 year old from Southern Indiana.  I have been racing for 4 years now and have came a long way since we first began hitting the track.  I still absolutely love anything MX.  If Im not racing on the weekend, I am usually on a bike at my house practicing on my two practice tracks,  And if Im not physically riding, Im either watching something MX or playing MX vs ATV Reflex on my XBOX360 or my Nintendo DSi.  I cant get enough of it! 

 The little time I am not on a bike; I am usually still on something with wheels.  I love my bike, my scooters and my skateboard and I am always looking for ways to push myself to doing something I have not done before.

My main goal this year is to make it to Loretta Lynn's on my KTM 65 SX.  Last year I finished 14th @ the Millville regional due to some mechanical issues but the experience and ability to learn what it will take to get to nationals was invaluable.

 

 

 

 

Riding Goals

My goals for the upcoming year include but are not limited too:

• My main goal is to make it to Loretta Lynn's on my KTM 65 SX in both the stock and modified classes.

• I will also be riding in as many national events as possible.

• Once Loretta's are completed I will be moving up to my KTM 85 full time.

 

Cant wait!  Its going to be an awesome racing season spending time traveling and hanging out with my family and friends.

 

Competitive Highlights

My first full series was the Greenville Indoor Series that we ran last winter, 2009.  We fiished first in the Race 50 (7-8) and second in the 50 Open Class.

Then in 2010 I won 1st, 2nd and 4th at a local track, Backwoods MX in the KTM 50 Sr, KTM 65 Jr, and KTM 65 Sr classes respectively.

In 2011, we expanded are racing area and started traveling regionally across Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Michigan.  I did not focus on one particular series but more on getting as much experience on as many different tracks as possible.

2012 was a different story:

• LINCOLN TRAIL MX SHOWDOWN SERIES - Finished 3rd Overall in the 65 Sr Class
• INDIAN HILLS MX - National Event @ Du Quoin State Fair Grounds - 1st Overall in the 65 Sr Class both modified and stock classes.
• Qualified for Loretta Lynn regional in Millville, MN - Finished 14th overall @ Millville.
