Personal History

From the beginning, I have had the benefit of being exposed to, as well as ridden with, several more experienced and talented riders. Most notable of these riders has been national pro Damien Plotts. I have been a student of Damien’s several times.

I graduated from minis to full size bikes late in the 2005 season. In May of 2006 I made the switch from two stroke to four stroke bikes. This change has proven to be very much to my liking. Holeshots have become my specialty. Thankfully, I have also been blessed with the ability to finish in award winning positions on a very regular basis. Since then I have successfully competed on a local, regional and in 2008, the national level. My race schedule for 2008 will exceed 20 race events.

My plan and process to move to the “B” class for 2009 is already underway. With my redefined focus and training program, I am confident I will be ready to be even more competitive for the 2009 race season and I am looking forward to it.

Riding Goals

Goals:

Short Term – Remainder of 2008:

1) Finish the 2008 season healthy. 2) Continue to be a serious contender in high profile contingency paying events such as the NY State Championship @ Broome-Tioga, the Kawasaki Race Of Champions @ Raceway Park and hopefully the Mini O's @ Gatorback in Gainesville, FL. 3) Race and finish in the top 3 of the Schoolboy 4 Stroke class in preparation for the ’09 “B” class season.

Mid Term - 2009:

My top priority goal for the ’08 season was to qualify for the Amateur Motocross National Championships at Loretta Lynn’s. I attained this goal. 1) My top goal for the ’09 season is to not only qualify for Loretta’s, but to finish in the top 5 at that event in the “B” class. 2) Be a consistent top five finisher in every event I enter. 3) Compete in the entirety of an identified series such as the District 6 Ultimate MX Series.

Long Term:

Attain A Top 100 Pro Motocross Number Before I Am 21 Years Old

I feel I have correctly identified my strong and weak areas of my riding/racing. My goals will be to continue to fine-tune the strong areas, such as my starts and downhill speed. A strong focus is being made to reduce to the point of elimination the weak areas, such as my stamina and cornering speed for example. My plans to accomplish these goals are currently in progress or planned for over the next few months. I have employed the assistance of a physical trainer to direct me towards the stamina improvement goal. I am involved with several more experienced riders that are helping me with the corner speed issue. I have been looking into more than one MX oriented school and/or coach. As in the recent past seasons, I plan to travel to some southern states (NC, SC, GA & FL) for some extended practice and racing over the winter months. I have a goal to be fully prepared for 2009, as well as have some fun doing it all!

Competitive Highlights

For me, the most notable competitvie highlight came this year. The afternoon of June 8, 2008 when I crossed the finish line of the third moto at the Loretta Lynn's regional in third place. My Dad came running up and said "I'm pretty sure that is going to be good enough to make it" !!!

I had finished 4th overall and was going to Loretta Lynn's! I still cannot describe that feeling, but in brief, it was awesome. Now that I know this is what it is like to reach your goals, I WILL be doing this a lot more and soon.
