Personal History
My name is Danny Lailvaux and I am 16 years old. I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have been riding mx for 7 years. I am extremely passionate about the sport and I want to make it my career. I am motivated and dedicated, train off the bike (cycling, running, boxing, gym and core training) 5 days a week and ride 4 days a week. I have an mx track at my house which helps, unfortunately I have not been able to ride nationals until this year due to financial constraints. However, I am willing to do anything to get ahead in this sport and to work as hard as I need to and more to win.
I ride a YZ 125 which is completely stock against modified and stock bikes because in South Africa we race them as one class. Our 2011 season started in February and I came tied 3rd in the first national and 1st in the regional championship.
My off the bike hobbies include PS3 (mx vs atv of course!), paintball and tennis, but I don't get much time for these pursuits.
In conclusion, riding is my life and my ultimate is to become a pro mx/sx racer in the USA.
Riding Goals
My goals in South Africa for this year are to win the regional championships in the two classes I am entered in ( we have 8 races for the year), and to come in the top three in the nationals (we have six of these for the year). All on my stock bike!
Ideally, I would like to go and ride in the USA this year, however , for this to happen, financial assistance is required.
