Personal History

Name / D.O.B - Dan Robinson, 12/01/2000

Born: Northern Ireland, Ballymena

Occupation: I am a worker in my Dad's retail business (Supermarket - Robinson's Nisa Extra)

How I got into riding: Well, originally my cousin back when he used to ride he was Ulster and Irish champion (Graham Cooke). So first off I started on a little TTR-90 just trying to get a little bit of air, do wheelies, the usual messing around as I just wanted to play around.

About a couple of months after digging out my parent's garden, making jumps bigger and bigger, I kept growing. So we decided to get better by mixing my talent into others, and so we did. My first ever race was on my brand new KTM 2014 85SX (Big wheel) I actually did really good on the 85 for my first race, I think there was around 20 riding and I came like 11th or 10th, so I was extremely pleased with my performance, I always had a good co-ordination and skill on a bicycle, so we knew I was gonna get addicted, few years passing by... We're here today, sitting on a brand new 2017 Husqvarna FC250, which I am proud to have the support from my family, and their payments towards getting me the highest, newest equipment!  I am a good rider, and can be extremely good, I just need a little more support, mostly motivation from others just to keep my head down, and keep trying no matter how many times I fall. I do the gym 6 days a week depending on my fitness, if it's a riding week I cut it back to 3 so I have good rests and are able to ride the next day.  I am extremely good at jumping, along straights everything, however I have struggled with cornering recently, I mainly struggled when I was on the 125, it was a pain! On February 11th 2017, we had a practice day at Desertmartin which I focused more onto my riding ability rather than going fast, I am extremely pleased with how I control and ride the 250, my cornering was exceptional throughout every race / practice that was run.

Riding Goals

I don't have many riding goals, of course I would like to be the best in the sport, but barely anyone makes it without support, it's a slim chance that anyone will hear my name, or I doubt I will ever be talked about. But I honestly wouldn't worry about being the best? I just want to enjoy riding my bike as it is, yeah I am capable of being an A rider and compete across waters, such as U.K Mainland.

I train with Martin Barr (Ireland's best rider) We actually sponsor him, if you look on his Instagram here on the back of his van consists of his sponsors, we are (Robinson's Nisa Extra). With sponsoring Martin Barr, me and him are able to get out time together and go ride magilligan which is one of the deepest sand track's in the UK, it's great for learning control, stamina and your limits.
