Rider Updates

Jul 27 2011

Well It feels like it has been forever since I have been able to ride but I am trying to get in racing condition. I have been training and eating healthy. I wake up at 4:00a.m. and train on my Mountain bike and then work out afterwards. And just trying to do everything in my power to get fit and healthy again. Really looking forward to riding again and doing my thing. I am also planning on racing the amatuer open in buckeye, AZ but we will see when the time comes.

Untill next time peace!!!

Thank you Keith for the note wishing me well.  I'm getting better and stronger and soon you'll see me back on the track!

Saturday Feb.12, 2011, Damon had a collision with the track.  The track was new and unproven.  As he was riding practice laps he came up to a triple, went over the handlebars and broke his back, collar bone, punctured his lung, had blunt force trauma to his hip, had a severe concussion and was sent to Las Vegas' Trauma Unit.

At Christmas, his mother unsure of what helmet to purchase contacted his sponsor ONE INDUSTRIES to get information on which one would be the best and provide as much protection as possible.  She seemed to think that the price was too low for the helmets to be safe enough for her son.  The staff at ONE INDUSTRIES assured her that it was top of the line, so she purchased one for Damon.  It was a beautiful helmet.  When the paramedics took off his helmet and neck brace as he was lying in the track dirt the paramedics said "It's what saved his life". Everyone picked it up to see the damage to this "life saving helmet".  Of course the rest of his ONE INDUSTRIES riding gear was also sacrificed when the paramedics cut it off of him.

As of Feb.15th, Damon is still in the Las Vegas Trauma Unit, but should be leaving the hospital tomorrow.

The doctors said that he will be 100% walking, talking and of course riding again and planning his next race in 6-8 weeks so, keep an eye out for him on the tracks.

Today we had a relaxed turn track practice that was more of a testing day geting the bikes dialed in with setup and jettin, It was super dry and windy adding up to super sketchy and slick(but to great practice and learn on). I was recovering from this weekend of riding and traing and getting ready to hit it hard again this week.

I have got all my contracts sent out and got all my jets for my bike. Since I have got all my jetts my plan is to go out and train for 3-4 hours on the bike at my turn track and motocross track(get them laps down as well as turns while getting endurence up). After that I am going to go out on my mountain bike. hope to get some photos.

I have been practicing hard on my new turn track. Getting down what 90% of the race is and getting alot faster. I am going to be faster than ever for the 2011 year to represent all my sponsors to the fullest. I will try to get pics up as soon as possible but will be in cali for the next few days. I am getting stronger and faster everyday.

Raced in Riverside, CA .  Had a few problems with another rider so I had to be careful for him not to disqualify me like he tried in the first round.  But, he didn't and I grabbed 1st place!

Aug 6 2010

Practiced on the track the day before and the track was fast.  A lot of other riders were there and of course mini compititions were taking place.  You can't take the competiveness out of a rider even if it's only practice.

Friday - race time!  A lot of riders in each race.  Won 1st place!  Great race!
