Bio and Objective
To whom it may concern,
My name is Josh “Daltyn” Kennedy. I was born on January 14, 1997 and I am currently 19 years old. I have a passion to race dirtbikes on the track and in the woods. I've been racing motocross for fun since 2000. I raced a few Area Qualifiers and regionals in 2003 and 2009 on 50’s and 85’s. In 2014 though, I sought out my dream of qualifying for the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National and achieved my goal. I went to regionals and finished 4th place in 250C limited, qualifying for Loretta’s. I started out my first moto in 14th place and then fell back to last due to a hard crash, but I got back up and pushed my way through to a 27th place finish. The second and 3rdmotos didn’t go the way I wanted due to bike issues. Through all that, I left the race with 34th place out 41 riders and an attitude of getting prepared for the 2015 season. In 2015, I went to Regionals having qualified for 2 classes. Even though I got a great start in my first moto of 450B limited, someone who was falling clipped my back tire in the first turn, and it caused me to go down. My races in 450B weren’t my best therefore I didn’t get my qualifying position to Loretta’s. This upset me but left me with the motivation to get more prepared for the next year. Even though, I didn’t get to race at Loretta’s in 2015, I was able to be a mechanic for two of my friends who were there racing. My goals for 2016 with Motocross are to continue my training and try again for the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National.
I have also done my fair share of riding in the woods. I have raced cross-country races in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. I started racing a series known as Louisiana Cross-Country (LACC) in 2011. In 2011, I won the Kid’s Vet class at the age of 14. In 2012, I moved up to the Junior 14-16 class and raced the main event. I won my class that year and finished 16th overall out of 156 men. In 2013, I experienced multiple injuries but still finished 2nd in XC2 and 17th overall. In 2014, I committed myself to staying injury free and I won XC2, and finished 10th overall. This past year in 2015, I moved up to XC1 so I could push myself with more competition and I finished the season with 2nd place in my class and 4th place overall. My goal for this series in 2016 is to win 1st in my class, XC1, and finish 1st overall. I also hope to race a few Grand National Cross-Country (GNCC) races in this upcoming year since I have never attended them before.
