Personal History
Well, I am now 16 and have been racing since I was 6 years old and I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my life growing up. 2017 brought quite a bit of change. I had planned on racing supermini’s this year but I grew quite a bit over the winter and once I got going, we decided it was time to move to the 125. It started good but then I broke the same femur I broke last year while training for this season. I was pretty bummed, but it was just another bump in the road. After getting healed up from the broken leg, I put my head down and got back to work. Being new to the 125 I wasn’t sure where I would be when I got back to racing. I struggled a little bit the first couple races, but then started to get things going in the right direction. I qualified through to the regionals and ended up winning the 125C class in the South Central Regional at Freestone. It was a great day that I had worked hard to achieve. Once we got to Loretta’s I just tried to get good starts and be consistent. Outside of a couple mishaps during races, it went pretty good and I ended the week with an 8th overall in the 125 C class. For the rest of 2017 I will just be working to improve my speed and preparing for races to come.
Riding Goals
I am happy and healthy and am looking forward to the rest of this season. I will be racing Ponca and Mini O’s to finish out the year and just want to have good finishes to begin 2018. I will be racing 125 b/c and schoolboy classes next year and my goals are to stay healthy, improve in all aspects of racing and riding so I can have good finishes at every race I attend. Ultimately a return to Loretta’s next year is the overall goal for the year.
