Personal History
I have been racing since my 11th birthday. I ascended the ranks to just under the professional level about 7 years ago. Then, while practicing for World Mini's in Mesquite, NV, I landed on a downed rider on a blind jump and severely broke my leg. The injury put me off of the bike for well over two years, slowed my progression, and limited my chances of making it as a pro. However, I got back on the horse, and now I am in the process of getting back up to speed. I have put myself through college and am now a a PhD student in an Electrical Engineering program at the University of Wyoming, ride nearly every day (except in the deep winter), and try to race 2-3 times per month. While I have no family support, I have collected several generous sponsors along the way (both local and manufacture support) and am thankful to be able to continue to participate in the sport we all live for! I'm also heavily involved in the community, including the Vice President of our local club, Laramie Dirt Riders Association, as well as many academic engineering organizations and honor societies. I'm also a leader in our local archery and fly fishing associations.
Riding Goals
I wish to compete at the highest levels at local, regional, and national events. Foremost, I plan on racing the Wyoming and Colorado State Championships to retain my titles. I will be racing Ponca City Nationals next year, as well, and attempting to make it to Loretta Lynn's after a strong off season this winter.
Competitive Highlights
I've collected several Wyoming State Championships over the years, and have had several wins and top 3 championship performances in regional series such as Wild West Nationals, High Plains Racing Association, and Rocky Mountain Motocross Association, along with over 50 overall wins in individual events in these and other series. I also race local, regional, and national Arenacross series events throughout the winter, taking several wins during Amateur day racing. I also attended the Ponca City National Amateur Championship in 2007 as the only attendee from the state of Wyoming.
