Personal History
My name is Cruise Shumway. I am the only boy in a family of 5. I live in Blanding Utah and go to San Juan High School. Since I was 3 years old I have been on a Dirt Bike. Dirt Biking is my passion and it's what I live for. It's hard to race as much as I would like since the closest track is 2 hours away. I have amazing parents who let me practice out in the hills and drive me as much as posssoble to race. If I am not found on my dirt bike you can usually find me out at lake Powell wake surfing or riding my jet skis!
Riding Goals
Riding is in my blood. My mom said since I could crawl I would carry around my toy dirtbike and learned to ride my ttr50 before a pedal bike. Dirt biking makes sense to me when sports did not. My goal this year is to make it to the podium 5 times out of the 8 races! I know I can do it I just need to continue to work hard and stay mentally focused!
Competitive Highlights
I am a taller kid so I have had to move up to a 125cc sooner than I would have liked! I was just starting to do well on my 85cc when I hit a growth spurt. Last year was my first year racing against an open adult class as a beginner on the 125cc. I was able to go out and be competitive and took 1st through 5th in multiple classes. I took 2nd in the beginner 250 class in the Moto Utah series and 1st in the 250 beginner class in the Aztec Motocross Series. I felt this was huge for me since I was a 14 year old kid up agains 18 or older individuals.
