Personal History
My name is Cory Cartner and I am 15 years old. I started riding dirt bikes when I was 11 years old. I began racing shortly after. I raced a couple of Grand Prix races and then started the TNT Night Series at TNT Raceway in Idalou, TX. I raced the Scrambles 85cc open in the summer of 2012 at TNT Raceway. I ended up 10th overall that year. I raced the High Plains Grand Prix Circuit the fall and spring to help build my riding experience. In the summer of 2013 I raced the Night Series again at TNT Raceway. I ended up 3rd place in my motocross class. This is when I decided motocross is what I loved to race. My parents bought me a 2013 modified KX85 in the Fall of 2013. This bike was far better than the one I had been racing. I raced the Grand Prix Circuit again and began winning. My heart was not really in to that type of racing, but I was having fun. I raced the Night Series in the summer of 2014. I ended up 1st place overall in my motocross class, which was the 11-13 year old 85cc. I then raced the Texas State Championship Series where I was 3rd overall in my class at Bower’s MX in Amarillo, Texas and 2nd overall at West Texas Motocross Park in Midland, TX. I qualified for the state championships in Freestone. I did not have a good race there and ended up 23rd in the state of Texas. I placed 1st overall in the Big Side of Texas Series in the 250 Beginners class this spring and I am currently racing in the Bowers MX Series and the Idalou TNT Summer Night Series. I am setting in 2nd overall position in both series in motocross and the scrambles.
Riding Goals
Racing motocross is what I love to do. I plan on racing more series this year in order to better my career. This is the only sport I am involved in. I made the decision this year to quit other sports in high school so I would have time to practice and race more. I have set short term goals as well as my long term goal and that is to get my pro card before or shortly after I start college. I know I have a ways to go, but I strive every day to become better. Motocross is what I do in all my spare time.
