Personal History
I learned how to ride at 9 years old, and continued trail riding through age 14. During high school with sports and applying to college, I wasn't able to ride, but it was always my dream to race. Fast forward to 2023, I decided to sign up for the AMA District 37 Desert Series, and shoot for a championship in the HWT (251+) class. Starting as a novice, I placed 7th at my first Hare & Hound event, the Checkers Check Chase. From there, I continued placing higher until I took first place at the 4 Aces Moose Run, the fifth race of the season, despite having a flat rear tire for the last 12 miles. I earned a transfer at all of the first five races, so I was advanced to Intermediate/B. The last few races have been challenging, between mechanical failures and injury. At the Invaders Alien Dawg Run on 3/26, I was running 2nd or 3rd in HWT Int when I hit a large rock covered in grass. Unfortunately my shoulder was injured to the point where finishing was impossible. I am now out for approximately 8 weeks, and looking forward to hitting it hard when I get back.
Competitive Highlights
First place (in class) at 4 Aces Moose Run (Hare & Hound).
Earning 5 transfers in 5 races in my first season of racing.
