Personal History
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Rod Dowd, otherwise known as Connor's Dad. My wife and I are on the Board of Directors of Boulder BMX, INC, in Boulder City, Nevada. It is one of the premier tracks in the southwest. We have hosted 3 NBL Nationals (before we became an ABA affiliate track) and the 2010 and 2011 ABA Redline Cup Championships. We have several top national racers actively racing in our programs. Personally, I am the marketing and business development manager for Media Marketing LTD, in Henderson, Nevada. In the past I was a rep for Dynastar Ski Corp. and Duret Monoskis.
Attached is Connor's Race-sume. He races in area races every week at Boulder BMX and Ed Fountain Park BMX Raceway, as well as several USA BMX National Series races in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, southern California and Oklahoma. He has been on the podium 12 times in the past 12-months at Nationals.
When we go to races, before, between motos and after, Connor hands out stickers, tattoos, promotional items and talks about his fellow competitors about his sponsors' products. I have found it really strange that an 11-year old boy does more to promote his sponsors than 90% of the high profile sponsored riders, that do little more than act as walking hangers, wearing a sponsor's product or logo.
I could go on and on but I can bore you with more later. Not to blow my own horn
but I know promotions, the key thing here is getting the biggest bang for the buck for your company, not just giving out free stuff! I know, been there, done that, didn't like it! We act more as reps for our sponsors, promoting their products and directing customers to their local distributors. Our sponsors have all noted sales increases directly related to our efforts. If you are interested in having a true rider representative help your marketing strategies, I would like to discuss the opportunity for sponsorship with you. Connor and his team, the Brotherhood, would be an excellent spokesmen for your company in the BMX community.
Riding Goals
In 2014 Connor is racing in the 11 - Intermediate Class of USA BMX, the national governing body for BMX racing in the United States. He will be racing in local southern Nevada races nearly every week. In addition we have plans to compete at 7 National Series races in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Connor is scheduled to attend several training clinics in California and Nevada. Greg Hill has been Connor's coach for the past 3 years. Recently, US Olympian Connor Fields has been working with Connor to master many of the skills needed to advance in racing.
