Personal History

Motocross is a fast-paced, racing sport that throws the competitors around dirt tracks with hard turns and large hills that launch riders into the air.
That kind of speed and air should be left to the professionals, right?
Enter Conner Richardson.
Conner Richardson is a fourteen-years-old from Park City who started riding competitive just 4 1/2 years. He has competed in competitions almost every week since the season started, winning and/or making the podium in almost every race. Conner has qualified himself for the Ponca City Grand National Championships in Oklahoma.
“There are a lot of great riders in and around the Park City and Valley Center area,” father, Bruce Richardson’, said. “Jeeps and Inman were the two qualifiers he qualified in for the 85cc stock and 85cc Mod division”
Conner just start riding motorcycles a few years ago, unlike a lot of his competition, Conner was born with a list of medical challenges, He could not participate in all the activities the other kids could do. Conner still battles some reoccurring illnesses from time to time. He got his start when he was riding at his cousin’s house just outside of Valley Center for fun. Soon after that he got his first 65cc race bike. Now he has three motorcycles all are Kawasaki’s, 2 are 85cc (1-stock  & 1 Mod ) and a YZ125 to help prepare him for the next division.
“Conner loves it all Motocross, Super cross and Arena cross, after his 1 year he had broken 3 bones and we had several trips to the ER. We really questioned that if this was a good move, however he loves it and continues to get better every year.
Conner has worked with some of the best trainers in the area, Jon Paul Powell, Jeff Garlach, Aviery Hickey all which are amazing riders and instructors.

“Conner was picked-up by the “Good Times Racing Team” at the beginning of the 2011 season, Being surrounded by great up and coming riders young and old give each of the riders someone to talk to and look up too” Bruce Richardson said.

The Richardson Family make it a family affair, Conner’s Grandparents Dean & Alice Walker from Valley Center play a huge role during the season. “Grandpa takes me to a lot of practices and races, Grandma makes sure we have anything we need. Conners mom Amy Richardson is a cosmetologist  at Salon 318 Valley Center ) she is just now coming around to the point that she can watch a whole race, “ when you see your kid flying thru the air it makes your stomach turn upside down” .says Amy.

Over the last couple years, Conner Richardson has made friends on the competition circuit, “The state of Kansas has some really fast kids right now, all of them and their parents are tremendous,  we are all there for each other, whatever someone needs there is someone willing to pitch in to make sure every kid gets to race.

“Some people go on vacations, we do whatever our kids do.  Conner  has currently 16 Championship in 2012n 85 SR and in Supermini, in the CKMS MX/SX Series. He is having a tremendous year.
