Rider Updates
Nov 9 2008
On a very windy Sunday, United States Desert Racing fires up the engines for the last round of the 2008 season. Due to schedule conflict with the WORCS series this was only the second time this year Colton has been able to challenge the regulars in the series.
Getting a slow start the Thousand Oaks/FMF/Panolin/Protaper KTM moved into the fourth overall spot behaind Dillon Murdock in the first mile of the 17 mile course. At the beggining of the second lap Colton pushed hard into the third spot after Murdock took a wrong turn and got DQ'd and a five minute lead over second in the Lites Expert. With a planned pit on lap 2 he comes in with a 2nd overall position after passing Colby Begin and overshoots the pit lane, 'gotta go 3 laps and pit after 51 miles'. With 450F's all around him in the Open and Pro classes, the faster Begin gets by him to take the 2nd spot. PIT lap 3, gas n go, 3rd position, last lap! Colby Begin has a 30 second lead on Colton only to have bike problems. Second overall and a strong 1st in class in only his second Expert race. Mission Accomplished!!

My day wasn't the the best (my whole weekend in fact). I had clutch problems all weekend, lost two shift levers and kept breaking parts. My kickstarter bolt broke on the start so I had to push start it. It took about four times to get the bike started and I left three rows behind mine (row 15). After the third lap I was counted about tenth overall! I just kept pushing and pushing and finally won the class and around tenth overall (we aren't positive).
