Personal History
Hi, I'm Colt Kimball and I am 7 years old. I am racing enthusiasts.
I began getting into racing when I would watch my step dad, Mike, race his go-kart and dirt sportsman. I loved helping him work on the car and going and watching him race.
I got my first taste of racing on a BMX bike. I would go to a local track every Wednesday night and learn the concepts of getting better at passing and overall racing. I did very well at BMX and was consistently competitive every week. However, as a natural born motorhead, I needed something more. Something faster and more powerful than my own two legs.
Since I could talk, I always wanted a dirt bike. I even had my mom change my room to a motocross themed bedroom. I looked up videos on my tablet of dirt bikes and would fall asleep every night thinking of them. I went to see my first motocross event at Utica Rome speedway and for the next two weeks voiced to my mom and Mike about how much I wanted one. They didn't like the idea of two wheels.
At the end of the school year, I had worked really had and had a great report card. My behavior at school was much better and I was on a good path with my teachers and friends. With this, I was rewarded!
One day I was watching tv in my boxers and I heard a dirt bike outside. I looked out the window and saw Michael standing there with one my size!!!!! I screamed! I cried!! I even ran outside in my boxers to see it!!! I have never been more happy in my entire life. My mom made me get some clothes on and I was able to ride around in my driveway. I couldn't believe how heavy it was compared to my carbon fiber BMX bike.
The next week I practiced everyday learning how to balance and ride over jumps at some local practice tracks.
On July 5, 2017 I entered my first at Royal Mountain. I had a strong 2nd place finish. I was so excited! I couldn't wait to race again.
During a practice my older brother, Wyatt, would ride our play wheeler around on the track and he was really fast. Mike offered to get his a racing quad so he could race too. He said he wanted too but then decided he didn't like it after practicing on a racing one. However, I wanted to try the racing quad. I got on it and that was it. I was hooked. I loved everything about the quad and totally forgot about the dirt bike.
After about 3 races on the dirt bike, I switched over to the quad once we got a 50 cc motor for it. My second race at royal mountain on the quad, I finished in 1st place.
The next few races at various tracks, I have remained consistent and strongly competitive. I can not wait to start the 2018 racing season.
I would like to thank my sponsors New Hartford Auto, Fastline Performance, Charles Tibbitts Masonry Construction, BLVD Self Storage, Johns Auto Restoratio, Pratt Designs & G-Force.
