Personal History
My name is Cole Ambrose, I'm 13 yrs old in 8th grade and live in Joliet, Illinois with my parents and older brother. I started riding when I was 6 yrs old on a Yamaha PW50 and my very first race I took 4th place out of 11. I rode for about a year and a half and at that time I stopped to start football for the next few years. Something seemed to be missing though and I decided to get back on 2 wheels! 2020 has been a crazy year as we all know but at age 11 the craziest was about to take place for me. I've gone from getting back on a bike to riding a semi-automatic to now only in 9 short months at age 12 riding a YZ125. My parents unsure if I would stick with it started me with the SSR125 semi-auto in March of 2020, they soon realized how serious I was and where I was going. By June of 2020 I went from the SSR to a KLX 140L knowing I needed to learn proper shifting with a clutch. I started going to Euphoria Mx for private training and by September I was pushing the KLX to its limits. My trainer said I seemed like a natural and suggested my next bike to be a 125 2-stroke. So by the middle of September my parents agreed and bought me a 2018 Yamaha YZ 125!! I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but within 7 weeks, hard work and instruction from my trainer I have grown leaps and bounds, clearing most of the table tops and hitting most of the jumps on both the SX and MX at my home track, Joliet MX. I honestly cannot believe where I have come in in the short amount of time this year, especially the last 7 weeks!! I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me. In my spare time I love hanging out with my family, playing some video games, working on my bike and chilling with my Maine Coon cat Tiberius!
Riding Goals
I ride because it just feels right, it feels like where I belong and am meant to be. It lets me be free. There is no better feeling than flying through the air and working hard to make bigger and better achievements. The jitters you get working for the next big thing, the bigger jump or faster lap time and the " YES I DID IT" fist to the knee when you reach those goals. That is why I ride!! This year, especially the last 4 months I have learned to work hard on moto basics, fine tuning myself and correcting myself. Working hard and safety are always constant goals of mine and always will be. As my trainer has taught me, when you have your basics down, everything else will start to come. I want to be better every new day on the bike than I was my last. My goals for 2021 are continuing to work hard, dial in my areas of need, continue private training at Euphoria and also start competing with podium finishes! Future goals beyond that are regionals, nationals, Millsaps training, Loretta Lynn's and Pro status, this is everything I am working hard for!
For 2023 I am back on a 2021 yz125!!! Ready to take this season on after training all of 2022. I feel ready and more confident that I ever have!!!
