Personal History
At a young age I was introduced the sport of motocross by my dad and step-dad, they both had raced at some form of the pro level. In my younger years I mostly practiced in fields behind my parents house or small private tracks owned by other family memebers. My parents refused to let me race much until I was out of high school, they always told me education comes first.
Currently I attend Missouri State University and I am studying for a degree in physical therapy and also one in psychology. I am also a father of a now 5 year old little girl named Aubree, who has recently taken an interest in her father's favorite hobby. I purchased Aubree a PW50 last Christmas and we have'nt looked back since. She started out much like me, riding in family members fields learning basic throttle control and brake use. Recently she has been asking to go to tracks and has shown the desire to race. I entered her into her first race this year and she had a blast!! She ended up 7th overall on her PW50 in a class of mostly KTMs and Cobras. She quickly caught onto this and insisted she needed a bigger bike. I purchased a KTM pro jr 50 for her and she rides it every chance she gets. We ride every weekend for practice, weather permitting, and hit races that we are able to make it to. We regularly make it to Missouri races, along with Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. While we stay busing traveling to ride Aubree keeps up with her school work and still finds the time and energy to play on a local rec department league basketball team for kids her age.
We have attended St. Louis SX every year since her birth, her favorite rider is Justin Barcia. Aubree loves wearing mx related hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts to school, the track or just hanging out with her dad.
Our goals as a father-daughter team are to progress in both her riding and mine. We plan on qualifying for a few nationals this year in hopes of gaining the needed knowledge and skills to qualify for Lorretta Lynn's. We spend many nights (after our homework is done) watching videos of anything from the current pros on tv to some of the fastest kids on 50s. With my daughter and my background in motocross and upbringing I feel that as a team we can represent companies in a positve way.
Riding Goals
I have several goals for the 2013 racing season. I want to improve on my fundamentals, in order to improve on my lap times. A couple more goals for next season are, having a complete schedule and staying healthy. My ultimate goal for the upcoming year is to try to qualify for Ponca City, Loretta's and maybe some other amatuer national races. My daughter is also racing this year and into 2013 she is on a KTM 50 pro jr and is hoping to do some big races this coming season.
