Personal History

Hi, my name is Cody Hunt, I am 19 years old and I live in Donnybrook, Western Austalia.

I have been Riding since the age of 9 where I started on a EBT50 with gum boots and my Mums' road bike helmet. Once I grew outof the 50, I moved on to a Honda XR100 where I would spend my weekends hooning around bushtracks throughout the South West Region including tracks just down the road from my house, i also had a very small basic track my Dad and I made in the back paddock. After reaching the limits on this bike I chose to upgrade to a Honda CRF150f where I rode the same stuff for a few more years until I grew into the Honda CRF250r 2008 and my confidence started to rise. I began riding this on a mates motocross track every weekend with a lot of other guys. These guys would talk about how they actually raced their bikes through proper tracks throughtout Western Australia. Well, that was al I needed, I signed myself up for my first Moss Institute course and my passion became my driving force.

At this point in time I had left school to become a Desiel Mechanic and my first few paychecks went onto a brand new 2012 KX250F at the start of 2012. And by the time July rolled around I had convinced my Mum to let me attend my first race at my local Bunbury Track for one of their "club days", I knew at the end of the day that this is what I wanted to spend my time, money and effort on. At my second club day, I podium second overall, this gave me extreme amount of confidence which is hard for me to come by, I continued to race at Bunbury and Collie Club Days for the rest of the year.

After an incredible season of racing in 2013 my luck had finally run out, I was training at the local track and caught my leg on a inside berm where I ruptured my ACL. I had a ACL reconstruction in February 2014 and since then I have been doing rehab and training at the gym. I developed a love for the gym as I focused on returning in full force in 2015.

I must admit, motocross is the most demanding sport out there, not only on the body but your lifestyle; as your family and friends attend every weekend and throughout the week help to prep for the next event. I can not do any of it without them!

Riding Goals

My goal for 2015 is to compete in the state round series in the club lites class and be consistant over the 6 rounds with top 5 finishes in each race.

I will also will complete in club events around the south west were I hope to podium every race.

And also race at the Manjimup 15000 in the club lites class.

Competitive Highlights

In 2012, at my second race, I mangeged to podium second over al for they day, this was a awesome feeling.

In 2013, I was on the podium a number of timesat the Bunbury club days witch lead to me winning the overall for the season in novice class for the Bunbury club.

I also placed 3rd over all for the South West Interclub series witch was a 6 round event with races around the South west in Busselton, Denmark, Manjimup, Bunbury, Albany and Collie.

On Sunday 7 July 2013 at the Busselton/Bunbury Bash in Busselton, I won the 'Presidents Cup' for Fairest and Best on the day this was after I was in a massive pile up in the first corner and I helped move a bike off a rider who had Broken his leg and stayed with him until ambulance attendants arrived.
