Personal History
Ive been racing for 12 years, but just recently started excelling in my classes. I started out on a KDX50 riding in a field behind my house. I moved up to a KX60 and started racing for fun. After 2 years I moved up to a CR85 and my racing started becoming more intense. I moved onto the 4-stroke CRF150R a year later and showed good results, running at the front of the pack in most races on my first couple years on that bike. I graduated to the "big bikes" and got on a KX250F and have not looked back from there. I was learning my first year on the bike, which was pushed along with the help of a 1-week camp at Millsaps Training Facility. I showed good results the next year, even though I was still quite small for the big bike, with plenty of top 5 and 10 finishes throughout the year. Another 1-week camp at MTF the next off-season pushed me to do better, and the next riding season was one to be very pleased with, Top 5 and plenty of podium finishes; until a broken collarbone halfway through the year cut my season short. I came back strong this year from that injury, although I hadn't done as much training as I would have liked, which prevented me from running both classes until mid-way through this season.
Riding Goals
I would like to finish this season with a podium finish at the Canadian Amateur National at the Walton TransCan in Canada. Top 3 is a very reasonable goal, and I would be pleased with anything better than that. As for next year, I plan to qualify for the Loretta Lynn's Nationals in the 250B and College 16-24 B/C classes, although I may try to qualify for more than those 2 classes. Hopefully in the next few years I can find some support in the motocross community that will help me achieve my goals and push me to the top.
Competitive Highlights
I have had plenty of highlights in my racing career thus far, but my most memorable one is my 8th place in the MX3 Junior class at the Canadian Amateur Nationals at the 2012 Walton TransCan. I rode well all week, but some bike problems late in a moto prevented a better result which would better reflect my speed. To go along with the 8th place, I've also got plenty of top 10, top 5, and podium finishes at local and regional races as well as races across the border in the U.S. Trophies, plaques, plates, and signs litter my room at my house, showing my results from previous and this year.
