Rider Updates

Well, I got hurt on Memorial Day, ended up going down pretty hard in a new roller section of a completely revamped track and really messed my back up pretty good. Luckily I was able to get the go-ahead from the chiropractor to make it to the race on 10/15/17. This is the SouthFork Outlaw Fall series hosted by the great folks at SouthFork MX.
1st moto: I was able to come out 2nd out of the first turn, and wound up finishing in that position. Slightly lost sight of the leader towards the end. Stamina wasn't where it was after 6 weeks off of the bike.
2nd moto: I got a beautiful holeshot, let maybe half of a lap before getting passed in the rollers section (still working on getting the confidence back there) and ended up getting passed, repassing, and then getting passed again on the last lap to take 3rd.
Overall: 2-3 moto scores for 2nd overall. Not back with a bum back and 6 weeks of not being able to do anything.

Southfork Mx Outlaw Series 2nd race : moto 1, 5th off the start. Ran 5th for 2 laps before I started making moves. Lap 3 I made the pass on 3 riders that were in front of me, and stayed there the rest of the moto. Leader was gone. Moto 2, 2nd off the start. Ran a little tight and a section of the track turned into slop after a mid day prep by the track crew. Ran 2nd the entire moto until the last lap, last turn I was getting passed on the outside over the last 2 jumps before the finish, last jump I stayed low and held it wide open until I crossed the finish line by maybe a fender, with not enough time to stop before the large burmed turn, almost endo'd and barely stayed up to go 2-2 for 2nd overall. Those new pro taper grips saved me, not to mention my hands don't feel like I lowered them in boiling water for once. New ANSR/Gaerne SG-12's gave a new meaning to comfort. And the ANSR Syncron gear kept me cool, conserving energy and still going strong at the end of both moto.

4/2 Outlaw Series race 1, 2nd off the start and made a couple of bobbles on laps 3 & 4 and lost 2nd on the last lap. 3rd place finish. Race 2, 2nd off the start again. Got kamikaze'd in the 3rd turn, stayed up but ran real tight afterward. Lost 3rd on the last lap. 4th place finish. Not too bad for my first race since 2005. Big shout out to Sean at DeCal Works. Got me some super sick graphics on my 125. Hey Sean I have a new bike and I'll have to get with you for that soon. Also big ups to Gaerne, sweetest boots at the track hands down. And ANSR, keeping me looking fresh since 2001.
