Personal History
My name is Christopher DeCarlo and I am a 22 year old resident of the great state of New Hampshire. I have lived in the small town of Chester my whole life with my family of four. I am currently a student at the University of New Hampshire where I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. I anticipate on graduating in May of 2018 and I hope to work with transportation infrastructure.
I was introduced to dirt bikes by my dad when I was 10 years old. For the vast majority of my riding career, I have ridden simply for fun. Nothing beats spending a weekend with family and friends out on the trails. When I ride, I am in my "happy place." I forget about all of the stresses and problems I'm dealing with and simply enjoy myself.
A few years ago, I was convinced to try an offroad race by a close friend. From the second the flag dropped, I was hooked. Although that race ended up being a disaster results wise, I didn't care one bit. I had the time of my life as I had never had my skills challenged in the same way that race did. From there on, I started entered races somewhat regularly and had a blast doing it.
Riding Goals
Overall, my riding goals are to always be improving my skills and my race craft. I feel if I can do this, the results will follow.
This year coming up (2017) will be the first year that my schedule allows me to compete in the full J Day Offroad Series. I intend to compete in the C250 class in both the Gp series as well as the Sprint enduro series as they test different abilities and skill sets. Based on my limited results this year, I believe I can place in the top 5-10 overall in the JDay GP series and top 5 in the sprint enduro series. Ideally, I will also compete in a few different events such as the Unadilla GNCC and local Hare Scrambles. With the extra training I will be putting into the 2017 year, I am confident that it will be my most fulfilling and productive year of racing ever!
