Personal History

My name is Christian Snarr.  I am 9 years old and live in Woodland Hills Utah with my dad, step-mom, two brothers, and sister.  I love drawing and entered in a Google Doodle drawing contest to win tablets for my school, playing piano, and all kinds of sports.  My favorite sports are baseball, football, and wrestling. Two years ago I took 4th in our state wrestling tournament.  The state champion pinned every kid he wrestled except for me.  My dad still tears up when he talks about how much heart and determination I had to not give in to him.  Last year I helped our football and baseball teams win their championships.  I was also asked to join the baseball All Stars team.  My dad calls me "Chris, The Cannon, Snarr".  He bet me $5 that I could not throw a tennis ball in our full trashcan with the lid just open from 50 feet away.  I did on my first try.  He still hasn't paid me.  When we moved to Woodland Hills, my dad bought my step mom a CR80 and a large trailer so we could all go ride together.  It is fun to be with everyone and have them cheer me on and be supportive of everything I want to do.  Like any kid, I don't like school, but I have straight A's and have a lot of friends.  My dad and step mom make sure that I have my homework done and that I understand everything, even if they have to teach me for hours before I get it.  I like building things and maybe will be an engineer like my dad when I grow up.  It is fun to build robot legos with him and work on cars.  He always explains how everything works and tries to teach me.  He also makes me work on my own bike.  He tells me what to do and then I do it with his help.

Riding Goals

I started riding 3 years ago on a PW80.  My dad quickly saw my potential and bought me a KTM 65 SX and gave the PW80 to my little brother.  I love riding and fixing my 80 with my dad and brothers.  They have taught me a lot about how the engine and transmissions work and make me work on my bike with their supervision.

My heroes are Colton Haaker and Dustin Hadwall.  My family was able to hang out with Dustin at the Jaub Extreme Enduro this year.

As for my riding goals, I just want to ride the best I can.  My dad helps me with technique and my older brother practices with me in jumping logs, tires, and rocks and I can almost double.  I hope we can keep competing in events and someday I want to go pro, be an example, and help other kids ride.

Competitive Highlights

I have been in two events so far this year.

I placed 8th in the Manti Utah Epic Enduro.  This was my fist race and I was in lead until the last turn of the last lap when my front tire went out from under me in some deep mud.  I was able to get my bike up and started again and took 8th.  After this my dad said it was his fault I was racing on worn tires and bought me new tires.

In my second race at the Pleasant Grove Utah Epic Endo I actually did 4 laps instead of 3.  I was so far ahead of everyone else that I almost lapped the second place rider.  The judges thought I was in second but I was actually in first place.  I also did a whip on one of the jumps and the announcer said to the crowd that I was his favorite youth rider that night and was going to be famous.  When the race was over and we heard the results my dad was upset and spoke to the judges but they would not change their minds.  Some of the crowd also heard what my dad was saying but the judges would not change their minds still .

I have had people tell me that if I keep racing like I do I will be one of the youngest pro enduro riders ever.
