Personal History

Charlie Braaten, 8 year old double jumping, whoops skipping, inside line flowing, Cobra dirt bike fanatic.  I rode in my first race in 2020 mid season on a PW 50.  I liked it so much my parents bought me Cobra P3 and I finished out my first race season earning a 2nd place overall season finish in the 50cc 4-6 class and 3rd place overall season finish in the 50cc oil class.  I was hooked, so for the 2021 season I jumped to a Cobra FWE and earned a Champion title in the 50cc 7-8 class and the Champion title in the 50cc Open class.  My parents ordered a Cobra 65 knowing I wasn't stopping here, but raced my FWE through the 2022 season.  Again earning Champion in the 50cc 7-8 class and 2nd place overall season finish in the 50cc Open class.  I love everything about racing...but mostly hitting the sweet jumps.

I have a little sister who also races and she's excited to get the FWE next year.  We're both pretty competative and love spending time together at the race track.  I also like riding my peddle bike, fishing, and playing all the sports.

Riding Goals

Goals for 2023:

Hit a triple jump

Earn another Champion jacket in my district

Earn a ticket to Loretta Lynn's

Competitive Highlights

2022: 50cc 7-8 Champion, 50cc Open 2nd place overall season finish

2021: 50cc 7-8 Champion, 50cc open Champion

This year, I conquered all the double jumps on the district track and was the first and only 50 rider for most the season jumping them.  The highlight of the season, since I didn't get to race my 65, my dad bet me $100 to win the 65 class on my 50.  Not only was I $100 richer, but I hit the finish line with a 19 second lead on the 2nd place rider.
