Personal History

My name is Chance Charles Barringer.  I am a 13 year old, from Bay City, Michigan.  I am the oldest of four boys, and I love being a big brother.  I am extremely close to my family, we are all each others rocks.  I have dabbled in the following sports; baseball, basketball, and motocross.  My favorite, of course, is motocross.  My little brothers and I love to ride together.  My mom and dad always have made it possible, dragging us all over for practice, and to race whenever we can.

I consider myself to be unique.  I don't know too many 13 year old boys who are as disciplined, structured, and committed as I am.  When I am not in school, training for MX,or at the track on race weekends, I enjoy camping and riding my bicycle.

I am a dedicated young man.  My mom and dad make sure that school comes first.  Once I complete all of my student responsibilities, I am able to keep my training going.  I love to read, I have been excelling in math, and I have found my newest science class to be quite interesting since labs have been added this year.

I am currently riding on a YZ125 for training time, but I am currently still racing on my KTM 85SX since I just turned 13, and I haven't gained enough experience since moving off the youth tracks.  I am also looking to get as much racing experience under my belt as I can before I start jumping into the gate with the older guys on the bigger bikes.  For training, I attend as many open practices as I can, as many races as I can, and in the winter, I train at my own private track in Texas.  My grandpa lives in Texas, purchased some property, and my dad, who is a contractor, spent a season building me a personalized MX track.  I go down to Texas once per month for a week, and do logistics training.

Riding Goals

My goals are to experience as much race time as possible.  I love the sport, I love the disciplined lifestyle, and I can see myself being surrounded with the sport in my future.  Most people have a specific career they want to be involved with, and I would love to work in the sport somehow.  Whether it be as a mechanic, a trainer, a writer, or for a company who sells products, etc.

As a rider, I want to continue to grow, I want to be a part of as many gate drops as I can, I want to take my riding to new levels, and I want to be a part of something greater than myself.  I believe that the possibilities are endless.

My dad is my mechanic, and he is well versed in the industry, he insists that I learn about my bike.  I have been priding myself on knowing about my bike, understanding the components, being able to take it apart, repair, and replace.  My dad and I feel as though this is an important attribute to me career.

In a nutshell, I am looking to be a WELL ROUNDED MX RIDER.  I don't want to just be "good" ... I want to be good, I want to be talented, disciplined, structured, kind, well mannered, and a great representation to my generation.  Too often nowadays, kids my age are just there, they aren't doing much to impress our elders.

Competitive Highlights

My District 14 AMA highlights are what I am most proud of.  The bulk of my riding will be this season, as my family has specifically purchased a new motor-home, a new bike trailer, and we are prepared to be dedicated to every weekend.  My mom and dad love it so much, and we all decided together that we wanted to make a real commitment to our weekend warrior racing for 2018, one like we never have before.  I can't wait to share what this season is going to bring for me.

For the 2017 D14 AMA race season, I came in 23rd in my class for the state.  My 2017 race finishes are all listed in my events and results.  For my 2017 race season, I learned so much about perseverance, and I was really able to gain an understanding for the sport at a competitive level.

I am so excited to begin the race season on 03-31-2018.  My parents and I are going to attempt to attend every race weekend.  Our vacation times for this year are already planned to be Motocross. Braapp!
