Personal History
Hello I am Chad Thompson and I race the Vet +30 class in my area. My boys and I at Thompson MX Racing travel our local areas to race and support our sport. We have a wide range of states we race in, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Colorado. My son races the Pee Wee 50 class and has been rippin it up this year with first, second, and third place finishes. Luckily I have quite a few riders in my Vet class because they don't section it out into A, B, or C classes they combine us together and sometimes we even race with +25 and +40 riders. I love my sport and I love to get out there and compete and work with the younger riders to help them out and teach them the most that I can. I have been riding since I was six years old but because my parents did not have much money I never got the chance to race until I was older.
My current employer is Manildra Milling Corporation in Hamburg Iowa and I am the Operations Manager at night. I am also in Charge of Food Defense being we are a food based company. I deal with the FDA, USDA, EPA, FBI, AIB, and all those other wonderful government agencies.
My wife is the Assistant Director for Southwest Iowa Home and Public Health (RN) and she is our biggest supporter and I thank her everyday for it. She is awesome.
Riding Goals
Mostly my goals are to get in as many races as I can and support my boys and raise them to be the best racers they can be and have fun. Our goals are to qualify for Ponca City and Loretta Lynns next year also.
Competitive Highlights
I think my most competitive highlight would be finishing a race that I was in in ninth place out of 20 riders with tow blown for seals and third and fourth gear was gone. Ended up being expensive but fun to know I could compromise.
