Rider Updates

Aug 30 2013

During the open race on Friday in Mammoth (June 28), I was racing the 25+ open class at Mammoth and had a good get off coming down the hill on lap 5 of 7 in a rough 2nd moto.  I was running 3rd and was gaining on the leaders as they battled.  I hung it out a little too much trying to get myself closer and hit a huge breaking bump on the downhill that completely bottomed my shock and sent me sideways toward another big braking bump.  When I compressed off the 2nd braking bump it sent me over the bars and my bike sideways in the opposite direction the first one sent me/bike.  Its a fast 3rd gear rough downhill and I landed on my right side, breaking a piece on the top of my humorous, tearing my rotator cuff tendon, breaking two bones in my foot, racked my head, got a black eye and scrapes and cuts all down my right side.  Anyway, I finally got surgery on 8/5 to sew together my rotator cuff tendon and now I'm on the road to recovery.  It'll probably be about 5 long long months before I'll be 100%.
