Personal History
Started riding off road in 1988 on a 1978 Yamaha GT80MX that I rescued from my uncles woods. Like many before me, I was lured by a friend to try my hand at off road racing in 2009 and signed up for my first race in the Vet C class. My first race was nothing short of a miserable disaster. When it was over, I cursed my friend for the invitation to compete in such a fools event. For what? A plastic trophy? Never was I going to do that again. That claim lasted two hours and soon I was already mentally preparing for the next race. I won the last 3 races of the season and as a reward I was moved up to the Vet B class for 2010. I trained my ass off over the winter break and set my sights on winning the District 23 Hare Scramble Championship as a Vet B rider, which I secured on the last race of the year. As with the year prior, I advanced to the A class for the 2011 season.
I can't thank my buddy Matt Murray for introducing me to the sport of off road racing. The sport has changed my life in so many ways. Thanks Matt!
