Personal History

My name is Ceddie Vohden. I am 53 years old and have unfinished goals from my youth of racing dirt bikes.

For as long as I can remember I have loved all things dirt bikes. Rumor has it my first words were sodermycle – it took a bit for my parents to realize I was saying Motorcycle as I pointed to everything on two wheels. I received my first dirt bike in 1980 when I was 8 years old and spent every minute of daylight riding my KDX80 in the woods behind my house.

From 1980-84 I raced BMX and won several nationals and was even featured in BMX Plus! Magazine. In 1985 I got my first race bike, a KX80 and off to the races we went. From 1985 to 1987 I was a top mini racer (senior mini amateur, 125 novice) in District 6 but then my dad stopped helping and that ended my racing before I had a chance to rise through the ranks to the expert class.

In 2023 with the encouragement of my moto enthusiast wife I started my first year back racing after 30+ years competing in the District 2 Championship Series. I won the 40+C class and the Raceway Park series riding a 2023 KTM 300SX. I earned enough AMA RPV points to be advanced to the B class in my 1st year for the 2024 season.

The 2024 season has been a year of progress. I competed in the 40+B class and select 50+ Masters classes. I won the NJ State Championship and KROC in 40+B as well as all three Championship series. I was very close to getting my advancement to the A class. I will be training all winter and will be ready to race in 2025.

It’s never too late to pursue your childhood dreams and make great memories in the process. I am ready, determined and excited to be out on the track, there is nothing better than a gate drop!

Riding Goals

I am taking this second chance serious and putting a lot of time and effort into riding weekly and racing each weekend.

This year I achieved all of my goals but one: I won all 3 series I was competing in, won the NJ State Championship, won KROC and shaved +/- 12 seconds off my lap time. I fell short of advancing to the A class but I will make it happen in 2025.

My goal for the 2025 race season are:

  1. To win my class championship in the District 2 series
  2. Win the NJ State Championship race
  3. Contend for podiums in the 50+ class
  4. Earn enough advancement points to move to the "A" class.
