Personal History
I started riding a dirt bike in the winter of 2010 when my boyfriend, who is now my husband, raced on the ice and off-road. after trying it, I, like most people, fell in love with it! I've worked hard to improve my riding skills and results ever since. In theSpring of 2014, my husband and I went down to California to train with a very well known riding coach, Mike Federow, before the upcoming Monster Energy Canadian Women's West Pro Nationals. While training with Mike, he revamped my technique and riding positioning for the better! Using those skills he taught me, I finished the Women's Pro Nationals at a personal best earning and Women's Pro number with finishing 15th overall out of about 60 riders. My goal for the 2014 season was to finish around 20th overall but by pushing myself and using everything that I was taught, I improved on that result with a 15th overall!
Later that Summer, my husband and I became pregnant. With our little bundle due in May, the 2015 race season was put on hold! But 5 weeks after our beautiful baby girl was born, I was back on the bike and in training mode! Although not race ready, it felt great to be back on the bike!
Now with the 2016 race in sight, I'm getting mentally and physically prepared to race!
Riding Goals
My goal for the 2016 race season is to once again race the Canadian Women's West Pro Nationals, now held by Rockstar Energy! The Women's Nationals will take place in Kamloops, Nanaimo, Calgary and this year they have added a fourth round being, Regina! Unfortunately, I'm unable to make it down to California to train with Mike again but have all my notes and will be putting them to good use as I begin my training!
My goal results wise is to hopefully make the top 10! We have a tough group of ladies but I'm willing to put in the work and hopefully make my goal!
